‘Getting over it’

I’m so tired of people thinking I should be ‘over it’ by now, or thinking I’m not handling things well because I’m not ‘over it,’ or because I still cry.

You don’t get ‘over it’ PERIOD.

You learn to live with it. I’ve never been told any of these things by other mothers of loss. In fact, I’m constantly told how well I’m doing and how far I’ve come in such a short time.

Just proves, you just don’t get it.

“You don’t get over it, you just get through it. You don’t get by it, because you can’t get around it. It doesn’t get better, it just gets different.
Everyday, grief puts on a new face.”
